On Monday, February 22, at 10:00 am the SD Senate State Affairs committee will take on 10 bills. This is compiled using the agenda at the time of composing this post. Agendas can and do change!
One way to listen to these meetings live is via the audio links on the Schedule page of the LRC website. While there you can also view the status board for the meetings as they are going on.
*** Wednesday is crossover day. That means this is the last day this committee has to get any Senate bills out to the floor!
This agenda is NOT as long as it seems. A lot of these are hoghouses, not actually real legislation.
It might be worth keeping an eye on SB 128. That particular hoghouse vehicle bill may be used to resurrect HB 1067.
SB 162 (SoDakLiberty Posts) – Areate the State Board of Internal Control and to declare an emergency.
SoDakLiberty Stance: Undecided
Prime Sponsors: The Committee on Government Operations and Audit is the prime sponsor at the request of the Office of the Governor.
Governor Daugaard has mentioned this previously. This board would help ensure the government agencies are operating efficiently if I remember correctly. I’ll have to listen to testimony.
SB 100 (SoDakLiberty Posts) – Enhance South Dakota.
SoDakLiberty Stance: Undecided
Prime Sponsors: Sen Corey Brown (R, Dist 23) are the prime sponsors.

SB 151 (SoDakLiberty Posts) – Lower the state sales and use tax on most food items, to increase the rate of taxation for the sales and use tax on certain goods and services, to increase the amusement device tax, and to increase the per student allocation in the state aid formula.
SoDakLiberty Stance: Undecided
Prime Sponsors: Sen Billie Sutton (D, Dist 21) and Rep Spencer Hawley (D, Dist 7) are the prime sponsors.
This was deferred from the Feb 19 meeting. Here is what I said prior to that meeting:

If the Governor is able to work out a plan with the federal government over the next couple weeks to expand Medicaid I would expect this bill to be used. I don’t see it happening in that short of a timeline though.
